GrEtTiNgs pEoPlEs....

Here in Ethiopia it was a 3-day weekend so things are still a bit hazy here, that whole "it's monday, no tuesday" feeling.  Hence, the following random BLOG.

As many of you know, beauty is synonymous with Ethiopia.  Be it the food, the landscape, the culture or the people.  It is just a beautiful place.  Yesterday, here in SNNPR (Sounthern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region, the name of the region of which Awassa is the capital) there was a celebration attended by 56 different indigenous groups of people from SNNPR alone!  Here is a taste...

Finally, on today's BLOG we thought we would also introduce a new face around AYC.  Namely, the "Peace-Ostrich-Like Bird".  We hesitated in calling it the"peace-bird", well, because that is traditionally reserved for doves, it kind of resembles and ostrich and traditional peace anythings don't seem to be working so well.  And the story behind the creature,pretty simple; a cool peace of wood, a stool, 2 sticks and 'ol fashion collaboration.  Take a look...
