gOoD pEoPlE...

We hope things are going well in your respective habitats.  Here at AYC we are in the fuzzy time  between school and summer.  Everyone seems to be still getting over the holidays and adjusting to back-to-school mode.  Though there still is much news to report.  First, AYC is organizing a back to school festival that will take place from November 9th to 11th.  All high schools in Awassa will be invited to send teams to compete in 4 different competitions (Basketball, Football, Volleyball and Foozball) over the course of the 3 day tournament.  There will also be live music, an aikido demonstration and, of course, a One Love Theater performance.  More on this to come.  Now the BIG news....folks, AYC is expanding, we plan to open a second Youth Campus branch in Harer,Ethiopia!  More than likely this will be the Harer Youth Campus (HYC), any other suggestions are welcome!  As always we are in the process of rustling up support for this, and all of our, endeavors, though we really feel it will happen.  While we have been thinking of this for some time, the decision was made on our last visit to the ancient walled city.  Despite being on of UNESCO's World Heritage cities, there is almost no programs for youth going on, and tons of interest.  This is where we hope to come in.  There will be much more on this to come and if you have any detailed questions, ideas or would like to suppor our proposed expansion please email us or contact via this very BLOG.  We leave you with some photos from our recent Harer trip, enjoy.

OLT is truly king of the road.  In took us a mere 14 hours to reach Harer, but it was worth it.  You may ask yourselves how does OLT make these journeys with 25 cast members, equipment, etc.  Well, this is how...

The first show in Harer spilled over into the evening which only seem to add to an already ideal atmosphere for a performance....

However, the show on the following day provided more light to see OLT's unique sequened elevating....

The female contingent of OLT also brought all their skills to the performance, this particular skit was even more fluid than in looks in the picture...

ThinK Harer.  One Love, One Fight.
